hobbitmon - Network Monitoring System
Hobbitmon use simplicity in monitoring our network. It uses color as the code. Green for ok. Yellow for warning. Red for errors. Simple eh? This nice software is written by Henrik Storner with GPLv2 license.
The history of hobbitmon is related to Big Brother. A monitoring software that finally was bought by Quest Software. Hobbitmon capable for application monitoring, servers monitoring and network monitoring. Application monitoring is done by checking the application port. If we use server extension, we can monitor the cpu, memory, disk usage of the server. Also we can enhance the application monitoring. By checking if the application process is running well in the server. Or if you have oracle database, there is a plugin to check ke tablespace, sga, etc. For network monitoring, we can integrate it with CACTI to get the graph. Although hobbitmon support larrd extension for the graphing.
