Ziptie - Network Configuration Management
Ziptie is an open source software that will do all the backup configuration for your network device. Currently support more than 28 devices including: Cisco, Force10, Juniper, Nortel, SilverPeak, Adtran, Packeteer, Riverbed, Crossbeam, Extreme, Fortinet, Radware, Vyatta, 3Com, Enterasys, F5, HP, Alcatel, Alteon, APC, Aruba, Citrix, Dell, DLink, Foundry, Marconi, Nokia, SMC.
In the FCAPS term, this open source network monitoring system utility is in Configuration Management part. Using ziptie you will be able to automate your device configuration backup. Compare for each configuration changes. Schedule job for reporting on inventory. And many other tasks which are expanding as the community is growing up.
Currently ziptie support linux, especially ubuntu, unix, and windows. Download it now at www.ziptie.org. Read the installation manual carefully especially for the perl section. It is better to use perl 5.8.x, and don’t forget to run the check script to make sure you have all the required perl module installed.
